interior architecture and design. furniture design and production. interior construction.
the client had a simple brief. two large areas separated by a central lobby with two different objectives - one area was required as an entertainment space and the other as an informal office cum gym.
the design process was challenging, as multiple pillars placed arbitrarily in both areas along with different height ceilings seemed to define the spatial narrative.
unwilling to segregate spaces for different functions using partitions, the architect worked with the idea of demarcation by creating free flowing contour lines in the floor plan. the different levels of the floor guided the function of the space. the design of the floor plan was then mirror-imaged on the ceiling and the pillars were brought in to support the design.
painted wooden panelling, mirror and stainless steel along with a colourful palette worked towards creating a dynamic, vibrant leisure space.
in juxtaposition to the playful entertainment area, a monochromatic colour scheme along with a structured lighting plan was chosen for the office.
