interior architecture and design. furniture design and production. interior construction.
an unusual part of the brief: to introduce a carpentry workshop within the apartment without disturbing the sophisticated design plan.
the architect took an avant-garde direction. rich raw silk panels were juxtaposed with cement walls, modern pendant light and an eclectic display of modern art installed along with exposed brick walls and ribbed wooden paneling.
the workshop was made visible through a grid partition made of raw iron and glass. work tables and units made of natural oak added an organic, earthy touch to the visual narrative.
the furniture was a carefully chosen mix of earthy hard wood and soft plump sofas upholstered in monochromatic colours.
what finally emerged was a highly singular, stylish yet functional living space.
