description

the concept behind the t1 table is the use of a simple geometric shape to depict a masculine post- modern piece of furniture. this design accentuates simplicity in form and function. the cut and suspended piece of glass displays balance and intelligence. the periodical grooves cut into the body of the piece displays the necessary evolution - from a shape to a shape with a defined purpose.

the concept behind the r1 table is the form and behavior of a bonsai plant. the form begins growing outwards and then slowly inwards towards a focal center/source, displaying both intelligent behavior and beautiful asymmetric form. the design challenge was the use of simple geometry (rectangles) to the end of depicting an organic silhouette. the drawers carved into the trunk of the piece provide storage function, while the light yet expansive balanced clear glass top provides a surface for display.
